Confirmation Registration Forms Due

Hungry for the Eucharist?
Are you or do you know someone who wants to receive the Eucharist, but is unable to attend mass? Archbishop Etienne remind us in his letter reinstating the obligation to attend mass that “those who have a serious reason are excused from attending Mass on Sundays and holy days of obligation (Catechism of the Catholic Church, 2181). This includes those who are ill, have significant health risk factors or care for someone who is ill or immunocompromised, as well as those who have significant fear or anxiety about contracting COVID in a large group.”

We’re back. Other schools had their return from holiday break delayed by unfortunate weather but the steadfast students and staff of St. Anne were in their places for the 8:30 Monday Morning Assembly. Big thanks to Pastoral Assistant for Administration, Gerry Scully, for clearing safe access. After handing out the first birthday pencils for 2022, Principal Mary Sherman carefully re-reviewed the protocols for coping with Covid-19.
Before we left. The middle school Speech Team competed in the Bishop Blanchet
Speech Tournament, held virtually. Among the 300 competitors, St. Anne’s 33 participants entered 50 speeches. Special congratulations to Zoe Onwuneme (8th gr.) for a first in Open Impromptu and fourth in Open Editorial Commentary and to Ethan Burkhart (7th gr.) for first in Novice Impromptu and first in Novice Editorial Commentary.
And now… Preparations for the St. Anne auction are moving into overdrive. This year’s theme is MARVEL At The Possibilities. Scheduled for April 30th. The co-chairs are Ester and Kevin Burkhart and Kim Tossman and Sean Matt.
Coffee & Donuts

Coffee and Donuts will resume this Sunday, January 9.
Isn’t it great to enjoy each other’s company over a cup of coffee, tea or even hot chocolate for the kiddos (and young at heart)?? When we gather in Banchero Hall after mass on Sundays we know we’re not doing it for the donuts. Regulars and newcomers, young and older parishioners create a bond of what is representative of a Christian community. Like the Christian communities of old who devoted themselves to meeting together, and ate their meals with joy and sincerity of heart we can drink coffee & eat donuts with greater joy if we can provide them every week. Each year we ask parishioners to purchase and bring a holiday poinsettia to help decorate our church for Christmas. This year, we have the opportunity to support the Seattle Prep graduating Class of 2022 by purchasing through this link:
