January 9, 2022 - Dedication of a new altar Sunday, January 23rd
Cardinal Gregory is coming to dedicate a new altar at the 11:30 am Mass on Sunday January 23rd. It is a great honor for our parish and all our parishioners. This will be his second visit in less than two years. I hope that many of you will be able to join us and welcome him as you did on the occasion of our 40th anniversary in September 2020.
We are grateful to God for the generosity of the two parishioners who have funded this latest OLHOC project for a new altar and have chosen to remain anonymous. We are also grateful to the members of our Parish Council who unanimously recommended...
The Baptism of the Lord
From Fr Alain: HOW TO RECEIVE COMMUNION PROPERLY
WHEN COMING FORWARD TO RECEIVE HOLY COMMUNION,
PLEASE HAVE YOUR MASK REMOVED OR LOWERED FROM YOUR FACE.
- At that time, the Priest or Deacon will raise and present the Eucharist to you with the words “The Body of Christ.”
- Upon you responding with an “Amen,” the Host will be placed in your hands and you should immediately and reverently consume the Holy Eucharist (Body of Christ) while standing in front of the Priest or Deacon.
- After consuming the Holy Eucharist, you may then step to the side and secure your mask back to your face as you return to your seat.
- I would also ask for parents with young children who are also receiving Communion to please instruct and assist with the understanding and following of these procedures.
Some may see this as slowing the Communion process, but allowing an extra second or two to give each communicant an opportunity to focus on giving the proper reverence to the Holy Eucharist which they are about to consume is well worth it. We should all want this moment for as long as possible!

Mass protocol
- Masks are required inside our church and building for everyone over the age of five. This applies if you are vaccinated or unvaccinated.
- Please maintain 3’ social distance between household families.
- Wash hands frequently and use sanitizer when coming to Church.
- Stay home if you feel ill or vulnerable to Covid transmission.
- We implemented and have regularly adjusted a conservative COVID protocol for OLHOC constantly referencing guidance from CDC, MD state government, Charles County, and Archdiocese of Washington.*

- We will need 2 Lectors for each Mass, please contact Michelle Klein if you're interested or leave a message in the office.

Life Teen (High School) Youth Ministry meets in-person on most Sunday's from

This is the parish sacramental preparation for Confirmation for students (who are in catholic school, public school or homeschooled), parent(s), and mentors, (sponsors are always welcome). At least one parent must attend.
