Greetings Church Friends and Family,
The New Year is underway, and we are slowly but surely starting move into the "Business" that drives us every day. I hope to be able to put a better version of the Midweek Minute together in the not too distant future. I'm just trying frantically to complete my school work by mid-January. I'm in full lock-down until then. I beg your understanding as I pull these "all-nighters" trying to catch up and complete.
I did however want to ensure that I provide you with the Mid-Week Devotional thought and a couple of odd bits of information.
Mid-week Minute Devotional thought
The reading is from the book of Hebrews. “Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, 2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.” Heb 12:1-3 (NIV)
Philip Yancey says, “Faith means believing in advance what will only make sense in reverse.” You rely in advance on what will only make sense afterward.
It is pretty challenging to keep believing when there are few visible things around you to attach your faith. Perhaps it would be good if every Christian would realize that it is not so easy to believe. More so, that we can’t believe in ourselves if it is not God himself who inserts faith in our lives. God makes it possible for you and me to believe. Therefore, that you believe in Him is not your achievement but pure grace.
Your earthly “journey” will be full of pitfalls at best, and it is doubtful whether you will ever manage to live as God expects of you. Yet you may know for sure that if you persevere, if you hold on tight to your faith, and keep your eyes on Jesus, the Beginning and Finisher of your faith, that you will not become spiritually tired and fall out, but will one day reach the right destination.
Lord Jesus, I praise You that You make it possible for me to hold on to my faith, to keep my eyes, our eyes, fixed on You, so that one day I will be able to reach the right destination. Amen
I pray you are blessed this week, and am looking forward to seeing you or connecting with you all on Sabbath.

WEEKEND AT-A-GLANCE
Sermon
Sermon this week by Pr. Kevin – The Great Controversy - The Protoevangeluim (The First Prophecy). Scripture taken from Genesis 3:15
As we are falling in line with our Main Campus’ preaching schedules, we will be having less in-person preaching (Live preaching up front) this year. This also means fewer sermons being uploaded to our YouTube channel. (More on that later) We are encouraging those of you who are watching from home, to watch the sermons on Arlington Main Campus’ Facebook page, or catch up later on their Vimeo Channel. Due to technical difficulties, they could not stream last week’s sermon. That sermon is now available for you to watch.
GIVING MOMENT
One of the most tangible ways we demonstrate our faith in Christ is by giving. The Bible says that everything we possess comes directly from God, including our body, talents, and possessions. In response to God's gifts to us, the Bible commands us to return a tithe (10%) of our income back to the Lord. The Bible also asks us to give an offering as our heart so moves us.
Your faithfulness and generosity enable us to fulfill God's mission here in Lewisville & surrounding areas. Your willingness to faithfully give a portion of what you have is more important than how much you actually give, as Jesus illustrated with the poor widow. God promises to reward those who faithfully return to Him, His portion. Thank you for your gifts.

Yes, we have several prayer groups that meet during the week, but some have expressed the need to be able to communicate prayer requests to bring before the Lord during our worship service, and they either do not attend in person at present or do not feel comfortable presenting their requests in person. This may also help us cut sometime during our service if we have the requests ready to go.
Please submit your prayer requests that you want to be prayed over during church service, to Pastor Eugene, 1. Via email (eugene@arlingtonadventist.com) or 2. Via Text Message or WhatsApp. (512.708.0600)
