A fun, crazy week back! We started lots of new things this week! We started a new reading book, a new math chapter on division and we started cursive writing! This has been exciting for the kids and are excited to keep learning new letters and to be able to write words with those letters.
It was great to see so many faces at the Christmas concert Wednesday! Everyone did a great job! Thank you for taking time off busy schedules to accommodate the concert date change.
Next week we will start one more new thing in 3rd grade...homework! I will start sending a math paper home on both Tuesday and Thursday that will need to be completed and returned the next day. This is not to just have homework, I want to begin the routine at home. When will they do the homework? Where will they do it? As well as the responsibility of getting it home, doing it, and getting it back to school. Expect the first one home on Tuesday, Jan. 11.
Reminders:
***Next Friday, Jan. 14 and the following Monday, Jan. 17 are days off for the kids. Friday is an all day PD day for teachers and Monday is Martin Luther King day.
***The end of 2nd quarter is Thurs., Jan. 13, report cards will come home Tuesday, Jan. 18.
***Please make sure your child is coming to school with coats, hats, gloves, snowpants and boots! We have several that do not have at least 1 of these items and there are not enough in the office to borrow from the school.
Everyone have a great weekend!
