Today, we had 24 students absent and two staff members, all but one being sick or quarantined. Thank you to the parents who are being cautious in keeping their kiddos home even for the littlest symptom right now. We can continue learning in-person or virtually for sick students, but we cannot offer in-person classes if too many teachers are out, due to quarantine or illness, and subs cannot be found. Bringing germs into the school increases the chances that a teacher might catch them, as well as classmates. I have heard the peak of this variant should be the end of January/beginning of February. Thank you for your extra caution until then!
Symptoms for COVID reported by the CDC include: Fever or chills, Cough, Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, Fatigue, Muscle or body aches, Headache , New loss of taste or smell, Sore throat, Congestion or runny nose, Nausea or vomiting, Diarrhea. We are following the CDC recommendations for exposure outside of school - five days quarantined plus five days masking.
I hope you all have a happy and healthy weekend! WHO DEY!
