Women of St. Philip’s,
For the past two years, we have been adapting to changes in how we work, live, and worship. But one thing has remained constant—our need for Him, Jesus Christ our Savior. The ACTS ministry of our parish is excited to help our parish grow in our sense of community, love for our Lord, and love for each other. ACTS is an acronym for Adoration, Community, Theology, and Service. Those four words form the pillars of a three-night Catholic retreat designed to re-ignite the faith and bring us into a closer relationship with God and our community here at St. Philip. It is an amazing experience that we want to share with everyone!
This year, ACTS is putting together a women’s retreat on the weekend of March 31 through April 3. We are extending an invitation to all women parishioners over 21 years old, to Come and See, as our parish patron would say. We want to share with you our theme for the weekend, a message of hope and courage: Remember not the events of the past, the things of long ago consider not; see, I am doing something new! Isaiah 43:18-19. And as we renew our faith and build a community with other women of St. Philip’s Catholic Church, we will look up to the fabulous saint we have selected as patron of our weekend retreat: St. Teresa of Avila. She said, “Its love alone that gives worth to all things.” We’d love for you to spend the weekend of March 31 through April 3 with us. Pray, have courage, be persistent. Say yes to a renewal of faith and an opportunity to focus on the one thing that is necessary—our Lord.
Sincerely and with much love,
ACTS Women’s retreat team.
