Our next monthly session (virtual office hour and in-person session for teens) is scheduled for January 30. We will send information about those sessions via Flocknote as we get closer to that date. We may have to hold the teen session via Zoom if COVID numbers remain high.

A synod is a gathering of bishops for specific kinds of issues. Synods are meant to be consultative, to be able to hear from those who are participating in the life of the Church.
Pope Francis has asked that the Synod of Bishops in 2023 would be about synodality, or how we as disciples are journeying together to reflect on and respond to the Holy Spirit’s call to us. The synod’s theme is “communion,
participation and mission.”
The faithful of Our Lady of the Rosary are invited to participate in small groups to discuss questions such as: How is journeying together happening today in our parishes and diocese? What steps does the Spirit invite us to take in order to grow in our journeying together?
More information to follow on opportunities to participate in a small group discussion in January or February. The Richmond website includes a Synod participant’s guide which can be downloaded from the link.

Fellowship after Mass: We will continue to have fellowship each Sunday. To increase everyone's comfort level, in hopes of encouraging more people to attend, all snacks will be purchased pre-packaged.
Parish Life Committee Meeting: The next meeting is Tuesday, February 8, if possible we will meet at the church office in the Blue Goose Building at 7 pm; if necessary a Zoom meeting will be set up.
Save the Date: Friday, February 25, 7 - 8:30 pm for a joint Women's Social with the women of Crozet Baptist Church. They will be our guests for a dessert buffet with a Mardi Gras flare, in the CBC fellowship hall. There will be a sign up on Flocknote and more information will follow soon.

Haiti Ministry:
Student sponsorship is the chief source of funds for the operation of St. Michel School. Sponsorships are $150 per year. To learn more, contact sponosrshipprogram@gmail.com. There will be a sponsorship fair at St. Thomas Aquinas on the weekend of Feb.12 -13.

One of the most famous members of the Dominican Order, St. Thomas Aquinas (1225 – 1274) is well-known by many for his theological work, “The Summa Theologiae.” Born in Italy, his mother wanted him to become a Benedictine and had high hopes that he would eventually become abbot of Monte Cassino, where he spent much of his youth. To change his vocation, she had him kidnapped by his brothers on his way to Paris at the age of 19. He spent two years in their captivity. Despite this, nothing could shake him from his vocation to become a Dominican priest and he was eventually released. Once free, he went to Paris and then to Cologne, where he finished his studies with Albert the Great.
His greatest contribution to the Catholic Church is his writings. The unity, harmony, and continuity of faith and reason, of revealed and natural human knowledge, encompasses his writings. The Summa Theologiae, his last and, unfortunately, uncompleted work, deals with the whole of Catholic theology.
The patron saint of teachers, theologians and students, St. Thomas Aquinas died in 1274. His life and the impact he had on the whole Church, however, remains alive today.
