Little children follow and obey their father. They love their mother. They know nothing of covetousness, ill-will, bad temper, arrogance and lying. This state of mind opens the road to heaven. To imitate our Lord's own humility, we must return to the simplicity of God's little ones. - Saint Hilary
“Return to the simplicity of God’s little ones.” Remember when you and your kids were friends with everyone in grade school? Remember when we wanted to take treats and Valentine’s Day cards to everyone in the class? Remember when you and your kids weren’t called “flaming libs” or “hicks” or “band geek” or “nerd” or “sheep” or worse words by their classmates when they were little? Remember when the kid with special needs was welcomed and not made fun of or left to eat alone in the office because nobody will sit with him? Remember when people were nice to you when you tried to do the right thing by looking out for others or through serving your community? Remember when you and your kids wanted to share, wanted to help the new kid, wanted to volunteer to help your teacher, and wanted to sit by the kid who was all by themselves at lunch? God put that love, that humility, and that state of mind in us all so that we might be on the path to Heaven…so what happened to the ways of our youth? Let us return to the simple path of God and be like kind and caring children again, my sisters and brothers in Christ! Amen!
