Important Reminder on Receiving Holy Communion
The Blessed Sacrament is the Real Presence of Jesus. Despite our unusual circumstances, every Eucharistic celebration is a time when we unite ourselves with Jesus in Holy Communion. Let us continue to receive our Lord respectfully while practicing smart health and safety protocols, as follows:
- To best protect the health and well-being of others, it is recommended that you receive Holy Communion in your hand.
- The option to receive Holy Communion on your tongue remains available.
For those in a state of grace, please line up for Holy Communion and follow these steps: - While in line: Keep your face mask on and safely distance from the person in front of you.
- When next in line: To give reverence to the Blessed Sacrament, first bow and then take your face mask off.
- At the front of the line: The priest or minister will hold up the host and say: “The Body of Christ.” Please respond with “Amen.”
- PLEASE NOTE: Receive the Holy Eucharist while still in front of the priest or minister, then put your face mask back on and return to your seat. Please do not walk away with the Holy Eucharist in your hand.
Thank you for upholding the sanctity of the Blessed Sacrament. May the two young Eucharistic apostles of our time, St. Francisco Marto and Blessed Carlo Acutis, and all of the Eucharistic saints, be with us as we adore and receive Jesus in the Holy Eucharist and protect the sanctity of the Blessed Sacrament.
