As our days slowly become longer and the nights shorter, we find the winter months a real source of cabin fever. This can be especially true for our elderly parishioners and neighbors. When we are unable to get outside for a walk because of the cold, we find ourselves homebound more often than we might enjoy. Coupled with all of this is the continuing saga of the Pandemic, which is far from over.
Fortunately, for those of us who have been vaccinated, the odds are in our favor that even if we were to contract Covid, our chances seem good for a quick recovery.
That being said, these cold and cloudy days might be a time for us to consider practicing the Corporal or Spiritual Works of Mercy. Reaching out to others who are shut-in due to these unique circumstances might be a way to share some needed companionship, with a quick check-in visit to elderly neighbors or family members. We could also offer to do some shopping or cooking for those in need of a warm meal. Another good winter project is cleaning out your closet of unused clothing that could be the saving grace for the homeless in need of warm garments this winter.
Listed below are the Corporal and Spiritual Works of Mercy. Let us all remember that what we do for the least of our brothers and sisters, we are doing for Christ himself. Have a good week.

Join us for this new evening Mass!
7:00 PM MASS
A 7:00 PM Sunday Mass was added to our weekly schedule.
Ushers Needed-- As we begin to find our way back to Mass on weekends and Holy Days, we will need to establish a more regular schedule of ushers for the collection. I am looking for 10 women or men who will volunteer to act as the "Head Usher"--2 for each Mass, so that you can coordinate with others who regularly attend this Mass to assist you in taking up the collection. Leaving it up to the 2 young sacristans can be difficult as they do not know our parishioners as you might, nor are they always available. Please let me know if you are able and willing to assume this role so we can create a rotating schedule. Father Joe

MARTIN LUTHER KING DAY OF SERVICE UPDATE
Due to Covid concerns, our annual MLK Day of Service on January 17, 2022, is being re-scheduled.
We hope to meet in smaller groups throughout the next few weeks to complete our projects for others.
