We’re saying “thanks” to the Redlands Conservancy's volunteer trail manager, Martin Lemon, to Father Gino, and to the volunteers who came out to help with restoration work today at the San Timoteo Nature Sanctuary….
The group gathered for an opening prayer and blessing from Father Gino, then listened while Martin taught about the area’s history, and about the issues it faces now.
(Even a coyote trotted through, to see what was going on…)
Then they all got to work!
They removed invasive species from beds where native plants have been re-introduced.
They cleared and smoothed out hiking paths.
They said hello to a lot of hikers and their dogs.
They heard the birds sing, and the trains go by.
They ate some cookies…
They prayed again…and finished for the day.
Thanks to the families, singles, and youth
(including the Girl Scouts from Sacred Heart Academy).
