Brothers:
I start this update with some sad news to pass along. Our friend and brother, Tim Rothermel, passed away late this past week. As we know, Tim loved his Polish heritage and played its music loud and proud. He was an avid photographer and his Caesar salads were unbelievably delicious.
Arrangements are forthcoming. I will be sure to pass along any information I receive. In the meantime, please keep Tim's family in your prayers.
Tim will be missed!
Eternal rest grant unto Tim, O Lord. And let perpetual light shine upon him. May Tim rest in peace. May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

This past Wednesday, we held our January gathering. I've attached the presentation that we reviewed during our meeting. I want to thank those who were able to support the Christmas Concert Afterglow last month. The event went very well.
Speaking of events, Fr. Ed's Birthday celebration is this Saturday, Jan 22, 2022 around 4:45PM (after 4PM Mass) in the Parish Hall. We are looking for you to help with the set up, serving of pizza and clean up. Please RSVP at the bottom of this message or reply to this email if you are able to lend your time and talent to this event.
As I mentioned, Pizza will be served at this birthday celebration. A big THANK YOU! to Al Roma who used his contacts at Benito's Pizza who will be providing the pizza.
As you review this past's Wednesday's presentation, I want to draw your attention to a special invitation for all of us to join St. John XXIII Parish's Men for Others' group on Saturday, Feb 19, 2022. Deacon Steve and Fr. Greg Piatt founded this group upon their arrival at St. John XXIII. Deacon Steve reached out to me over the Christmas holiday and suggested we meet to break bread (in this case, breakfast) and discuss some of the challenges the groups face. Details are in the presentation. I'll follow up with you in a week for a count of those who would like to join us.
Finally, Deacon Leo suggested we consider a Patron Saint for the group. Deacon Leo suggested either St. Joseph or St. James the Great. After some discussion, it was suggested we ask the group if you had any Saints you would like to consider for the group. If you do, we would like for your to prepare a short (no more than 5 minutes) nomination for the saint and present at our next gathering which will be Thursday, Feb 10, 2022 Should be a fun gathering.
Again, I'll send a note as soon as I have Tim's arrangements.
And please consider helping us this Saturday at Fr. Ed's Birthday celebration.
Have a blessed week!!
John Fitzpatrick
