Friends,
Every January we are reminded of our need to pray for the protection of the unborn and an end to abortion since the anniversary of Roe v. Wade occurs on January 22nd. This a particularly important year to pray for this cause because of the possibility that the Supreme Court may overturn Roe this coming June.
From January 21 to 29, the Diocese of Saginaw will celebrate “9 Days for Life.” Faithful will gather at eight designated parishes across the Diocese to pray for and raise awareness of respect for all human life.
The 9 Days for Life will open with the Knights of Columbus Novena for Life on January 21 at the Cathedral of Mary of the Assumption in Saginaw. The Novena for Life will then continue at seven additional designated parishes each day until the final day on January 29 at the Cathedral. The Knights of Columbus Councils from the designated parishes will lead each Novena, which may be followed by an event planned by the parish, such as Mass, Eucharistic Adoration, Rosary and more. Each parish will also livestream their events.
The nearest participating parish for us in The Thumb is Good Shepherd Parish in Ubly on Friday, January 28th at 6:30pm. I plan to attend, I hope to see some of you there!
AMDG,
Fr. Stephen
