NOTE ABOUT THE SCHOOL SCHEDULE CHANGE
We are aware of the change to a flex schedule in Midland Public Schools. For this weekend, we will meet as planned for all formation groups. The only scheduled virtual school days, as of right now, are Tuesday and Wednesday. As long as that is the case, we will continue with programming as it is currently scheduled. As a reminder, we ask that all students and parents be masked at formation events. If you have questions, please contact me at justinr@blessed-midland.org.
Sunday Night YM and Outreach Coming Up
This week I will be with the 11/12th grade to discuss the topic "How do I use technology to grow my faith?" All YM will meet Sunday from 6-8pm. After a crazy first half of the year, we now meet 3 weeks in a row for regular meetings!!! YAY!!!
The High School Outreach Team is prepping to have two events.
-On February 11th we will host a Parents Night Out babysitting event. Bring your children 1-10 and have a date night for a few hours. We will provide food, activities, and crafts from 5-8pm. Be on the lookout for the flyer and registration by the end of January.
-February 12th is the Pasta Dinner following the 4pm Mass. Information and procing will be available by the end of January as well.

Donate Old Linens to an Animal Shelter
Linen closets are often overloaded with too many worn out items. Donate old bath towels, blankets, and sheets to your local animal shelter. These household items are used for bedding, clean up and keeping the animals warm.

In a time when we need hope, Living Hope by Phil Wickham, is a great reminder of the power and joy that is Jesus.
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God. More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.
The Synod
The bishops and the Church are set to begin the 2021-23 Synod. So what is a synod? You will hear much more about this in the coming months and year, but at face value, the synod is a gather of church leaders. The purpose of this gathering is to convene, listen, reflect, and ultimately proceed with the course of the church based on what has been discerned.
Think of the synod like this. We, the church (us), are all on a journey together. As we walk this journey, we find ourselves either in step with others in the church, or drifting apart. The synod affords us a chance to rejoin our steps.
As the process begins, let us pray for a strong, open process led by the Holy Spirit.
