Dear Parish Family,
This Saturday, January 22nd is a Day of Prayer for the Legal Protection of the Unborn. Bishop Malloy will offer a special Mass at 10:00am at St. Mary's in Huntley. Please consider joining us as we unite together to pray for an end to abortion and greater protection for the unborn. It is so important that we unite together on this vital human rights issue of our times. Please take some time on Saturday to pray for this intention. Here is one prayer in the link below.
Next Sunday following the 9:30 Mass we will have an Open House at our St. Catherine School from 10:30 - 12:30. Please join us for a tour and to get more information about our school. St. Catherine's has a wonderful school with an amazing staff and incredible students. Please spread the word and invite those who may be looking for a new school they can call home.
On Tuesday February 8th we will be starting a new ministry at our parish called Divorced and Healing. It will consist of five weeks of prayer, teaching, and small group discussion. It is an opportunity for those who have experienced the pain of divorce to discover God's healing grace in a new way. Each meeting will begin at 7:00 and conclude at 8:15pm. Please join us for one or all of the meetings. If you have any questions please email or call Fr. John or Fr. Reese.
Lastly, this week (January 18th-25th) is the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity. Please pray that all of us Christians can unite in a closer way. Furthermore, even as Catholics we often find ourselves divided. Let us seek to unite in prayer, dialogue, speak well of others, and be a shining example of a unifier rather than one who divides.
See you at Mass!
God's peace be with you this week.
Fr. John
