Brothers:
I want to start off with a big Thank You!!
First to all of you who were able to attend Tim Rothermel's services this past week. Your expression of kindness had a profound impact on the family and our parish community at large.
Second, to all of you who help serve our parish community at Fr. Ed's Birthday celebration. The number of people who came up to me to thank us for serving the pizza and refreshments were more than over a dozen. I know Fr. Ed was particularly pleased and grateful for our effort.
So, THANK YOU to those who were able to serve and those who sent prayers of support our way!
Men for Others Patron Saint Activity
At our last gathering, Deacon Leo presented an idea for our group to incorporate a Patron Saint. We discussed a couple of possibilities but decided to allow the group to offer up their own nominations.
In my last update, I indicated that if you would like to propose a Patron Saint, that you prepare a brief (no more than 3 to 5 minute) nomination presentation at our next Meeting (which is Thursday, February 10, 2022 at 7PM).
To help guide you in what to prepare, Deacon Leo and I thought it would be good to develop a template for you to use in the nomination. Attached is a Powerpoint file that you can use to help guide you in the nomination. I also a slide on St. James the Greater (our Parish's Patron Saint) as an example of what a nomination would look like. You can use this to develop your nomination. My only ask is that you send this file with your nomination back to me before the meeting so we can incorporate it in the final presentation for the meeting.
Special Invite: Men for Others Joint Gathering with St. John XXIII
I took the liberty to add a third slide to the attached to remind you of the invitation to join St. John XXIII Parish's Men for Others' group on Saturday morning, Feb 19, 2022, at 9AM.
Deacon Steve and Fr. Greg Piatt founded this group upon their arrival at St. John XXIII. Deacon Steve reached out to me over the Christmas holiday and suggested we meet to break bread (in this case, breakfast) and discuss some of the challenges the groups face.
Please RSVP below if you can join us for this special event.
I hope you and your family are well, and you have a very blessed week!
