The next Healing after Abortion retreat has been scheduled for May 20-22. This retreat, organized by
Project Rachel, is designed for women at any point in their lives who wish to experience God's healing through the sacraments, talks, and counseling.
The weekend will have a bilingual format in English and Spanish. Those who are interested are invited to inquire by email, phone, or through the form on the event's web page.
As Lent begins in a few weeks, so does the tradition of 40 Days for Life, which begins again on March 2. Individuals are invited to sign up for a time slot for the vigil, with local sites in
San Francisco and
Redwood City.
Participants will pray outside of abortion clinics in a peaceful witness for life. The campaign reports that the number of babies saved
doubled from 2020 to 2021.
A new bill was introduced in the House of Representatives last week that would provide a path to legalization for many undocumented individuals in the United States. The Dignity Act would also provide legal status for Dreamers, increase border security, and tighten requirements around workforce verification for federal employees.
This bill joins several other immigration-related bills that are currently in Congress. While the U.S. Bishops have not taken a position on these proposed laws, they have consistently
called for a pathway to citizenship for the undocumented.
