I want to apologize for the "disconnect" the last couple weeks! I realized the flocknotes never sent! Sorry. Reminders:
** Fundraiser pickup Wednesday, March 9 at the school.
** Conferences will be held Wednesday, Mar. 9 and Thursday, Mar. 10. Please let me know if you don't remember what your scheduled day/time is.
** Friday, Mar. 11 is an all-school PJ day! We have earned an all-school party for PBIS so we will be watching "Mary Poppins" in preparation to visit HIllcrest Academy to see their production of Mary Poppins in April.
** Monday, March 14-Wednesday, March 16 is spring break. We will be in school on the 17th and 18th.
** PUT A NOTE ON YOUR CALENDAR! Thursday, April 28 is "Noodles and Neurons" here at school from 5:30-6:30. There will be a spaghetti dinner served, then a Science fair presented for you by 3rd-5th grades and other science activities in the K-2 classrooms. Your child has chosen a partner to do the fair with and are finalizing their topics. We may need some of your help from home as we go along. MORE TO COME LATER.
We have been working a lot on adverbs and prefixes. We took a reading test today which the kids should have brought home...overall, they did really well!
We are midway through our first chapter on fractions in math. We have been learning how to write a fraction to match a picture, equal parts of a whole... We have learned to use fraction pies and fraction tiles. We will begin comparing fractions next week, are they <, >, or = ...
We got our new (and final) science kit for this year! We have started with magnets (forces, gravity, push/pull, attract/repel). This has been fun for the kids.
Best of luck to all the archers heading to Des Moines this weekend for the State Archery tournament (including my 2 boys). Best wishes to all of them!
Have a great weekend!
