Thank you for your cooperation with our safety guidelines during the past two years. We are grateful that infection rates are at a level that allows more personal safety options. This weekend marks the 2-year anniversary when we moved church completely online due to Covid. This weekend we also lift masking requirements on our campus. Also, meals may resume being served and eaten inside. We do want you 'to prosper and enjoy good health' and urge you to take appropriate actions to protect these blessings in your life.

Can You Imagine…
“Is it your wisdom that makes the hawk soar and spread its wings toward the south?” — Job 39:26 NLT
Can you imagine the hawk’s bird’s eye view as he soars downs Palm Avenue from its lofty nest on Blue Mountain and turns south over the Azure Hills Church campus? For fifty-seven years our congregation has been blessed with beautiful facilities on a ten-acre campus that provides ministry for our church family and community! Truly, it was by the Lord’s wisdom that our charter members had the foresight and vision to make Grand Terrace our church home.
As a congregation we are well acquainted with the facilities where we worship, study and fellowship each Sabbath. But what about the other facilities on campus that you may not be so familiar? Let’s explore the Azure Hills campus to learn more about the amazing opportunities for ministry and service to the Grand Terrace community.
Let’s begin our campus tour at the Azure Hills Children’s Center. The center is located next to the Firehouse and provides a Christian early childhood education program for children age 2-5. AHCC serves church and community families with more than 45 children currently enrolled.
Next to the church office you will find the multipurpose meeting building called the Cottage. Three adult Sabbath School Classes meet in the Cottage each Sabbath. Committee meetings and multiple community groups from the Grand Terrace area use the Cottage for various meetings throughout the year.
Last year, the outdoor platform area was completed behind the Fellowship Hall. This provides our campus with a beautiful space which can be used for special outdoor services, concerts, weddings and other social gatherings.
The story of the Azure Hills Church is rooted in its heritage when our charter members purchased the Azure Hills Country Club. Outdoor recreational activities have always been a central part of Azure Hills ministry. A ten-acre campus located in the center of Grand Terrace makes this possible.
Each summer, over 400 children plus 100+ volunteers come to Vacation Bible School for our church and community. In 2019 the original country club tennis courts were completely resurfaced and new energy efficient LED lighting installed for nighttime use. These multipurpose courts are used by groups for basketball, pickleball, roller hockey along with other activities for multi-generational groups, including our Pathfinders and Adventurers. Last year, the snack bar and patio area were restored to support these outdoor ministries. When the holiday season arrives, the Azure Hills Church, working in cooperation with the City of Grand Terrace, invites the entire community to come to our campus for “Light Up Grand Terrace” an evening of fun, food, music and community fellowship as we welcome in the Christmas season!
There is still one more area of campus that we need to visit. Until last year this area could have been called the “forgotten zone”. During the last fifteen months thanks to the hard work of high school students and adults who volunteered in workbees this area has seen a marvelous transition to return these buildings once again for ministry and community outreach. These buildings are the former children’s center and the “Butler” steel storage building. Two buildings that were long forgotten, an eyesore and the dumping place on campus. Today, revitalization and renewal are taking place in these buildings, thanks to the Vision Capital Fund and Vision in Action.
The first task involved removing the trash and obsolete equipment that was stored in both of these buildings. Over eight tons of “trash and un-needed stuff” found its way to Habitat for Humanity’s ReStore, the scrap yard and county landfill. Once the Butler building was cleared out, the area was organized to create storage zones for ministry supplies and the church cargo trailer used by the Pathfinders & Adventurers.
Today, the former children’s center building is being transformed into the Elias Community Center. This facility will provide 4,000 square feet of ministry space with three multi-purpose classrooms, kitchenette, new restrooms, storage and a pastor’s office. The new restrooms include an ADA restroom with shower. These new restrooms will also support all outdoor activities on campus. When completed this spring, the Elias Community Center will be a fully remodeled facility for young adult and community service ministry.
So can you imagine what Azure Hills would be like if we didn’t have our ten-acre campus for ministry? I cannot! Thank you for your faithful support of Vision in Action and the Vision Capital Fund. We invite you to join us for a workbee this Sunday, March 13th at 8:00 a.m. and volunteer to help Azure Hills continue the improvement of our campus facilities. We are thankful for the continuing wisdom our Lord provides as we develop and use our campus for ministry and outreach.

Blood Drive Update
Last Sabbath, we had a successful blood drive. Our goal was to get 20 donations and by the end of the day, we had collected over 30! We want to say a big thank you to everyone who donated. We were blessed to have Glen and his exceptional team with us, and they wanted to extend their gratitude to the members of our church for giving above and beyond their expectations. If you want to share your thanks with them, shoot Laia Amaya a text (256) 698-1936 to deliver your message. We hope to continue to show up as a community in more ways like these!

Trials Amidst a Triathlon | The Living Room
It can be said that triathlons can be a symbol of life’s trials. When Ernie Medina and Sandy Papas decided to do a triathlon together, they had no idea how much it would challenge them physically and mentally! They would soon learn that accepting support and trusting each other would help them finish strong!
