Hi there, everyone! I hope & pray that you have had a great week! We are in what you might call the homestretch of our Lenten journey. Two weeks from today is Good Friday. As we draw nearer to Holy Week, I'd invite you to consider joining us for any/all of our prayers & celebrations. We'll have Mass on Holy Thursday @ 7 pm, Stations on Good Friday @ Noon, our Good Friday Service will be @ 3 pm, the Blessing of Easter Food will be on Holy Saturday @ Noon, the Easter Vigil will begin @ 8:30 pm, & on Easter Sunday we'll celebrate the Resurrection of our Lord & our Parish's 100th anniversary with Mass @ 9 am.
1) Trapper Jack: This Sunday @ 6 pm, Trapper Jack will be joining us for a mini Parish Mission. Trapper will be sharing with us his reflections entitled "Mary At the Foot of the Cross of Jesus." Everyone is welcome to join us. For those who can't be there in person, a link will also be available on the parish website. That link will be left up for about 2 weeks for you to view the talk.
2) Parish Picnic: Save the date for June 26th for the return of our Parish Picnic! More details & info will be shared as we draw closer, but for now, save the date!
3) Stations of the Cross: Join us for Stations of the Cross next Friday (4/8) @ 9 am & then again on Good Friday (4/15) @ Noon.
4) Transitional Diaconate: Please keep in your prayers the 4 men who will be ordained as Transitional Deacons tomorrow morning @ the Cathedral. Transitional Deacons are men who are on track to be ordained as Priests next May, 2023.
This prayer is written more for Deacons, but we can adapt it & pray it for these men.
Deacon Prayer
Lord Jesus, you came to serve, not to be served,
form within us your generous spirit;
Fill us with your love,
that we may love the Father as your love him.
Fill us with your compassion,
that we may see our brothers and sisters
as you see them.
Fill us with your courage,
that we may give our lives in service to the Church
as you gave your life for her.
Fill us with that Spirit which will make us
preachers of your Word,
ministers of your Sacrifice,
servants of your Bride,
friends of the poor,
and the voice of the forgotten.
Transform us through your Holy Spirit
so that we may transform the world into
Your Kingdom of justice and faith.
Amen.
Have a Blessed Week!
Fr. John
