It was fifteen years ago today which was Divine Mercy Sunday, April 14th, 2007, that God came to take Audrey to himself. As she had been since her accident, Audrey was surrounded by her family and a spiritual community that loved and supported as it had every day since 1987. With a cry, that Fr. McCarthy likened to that of Christ on the Cross, Audrey left us in an instant.
Today, fifteen years later, this date is Holy Thursday when the Church celebrates the institution of the Eucharist and the Priesthood, two gifts of grace that were close to the heart of Little Audrey. Let us ask Audrey's help today: for advancement of the cause of her canonization process, for our priests and bishops to be holy and wise, and for a greater love, respect, and devotion to the Holy Eucharist for ourselves, our families, and in the whole world.
As Audrey followed Christ to Golgotha here on earth by carrying her unique cross, and as she shares his glory, may she guide us to be one with Him and with her one day.
A reminder that our anniversary Mass will be this coming Monday, April 18th, at 11 am behind the Foundation House at 68 S. Flagg St, Worcester. All are welcome. The Mass and holy half hour will be livestreamed also.
