PARISH UPDATES
Ash Wednesday Collections
Our Ash Wednesday collection will be for the Church in Central and Eastern Europe. Your donation helps restore the Church and build the future in over 25 countries still struggling to recover in the aftermath of the communist rule. Funds from this collection help support reconstruction, education, formation, and poverty outreach. For more information, please visit www.usccb.org/ccee. Thank you for your generosity.

Meet Some Cardinal Catholic StudentsResidents, would you like to get to know our Cardinal Catholic students better? This is your chance! We are looking for resident parishioners to host 2 -3 students in your home for dinner in the evening on Sunday, February 18. This will be a casual time for our residents and students to get to know one another better. If you are interested in hosting, please sign up on the Google Doc on our Facebook page, St. Francis of Assisi Newman Center, or on the sign up sheet in the Narthex by Monday, February 12. Questions, please contact Tara or Sarah in the parish office at 288-6180.
Drivers & Food Donations Needed!Next month, the Newman Center will be hosting its 10th Koinonia Retreat! Being held in Alexandria, IN, we will need parishioner drivers to help take students to the center and back here to BSU on the dates of February 23rd and February 25th. Your service will be deeply appreciated! If you are interested or for more information, please contact Kelli Reutman at kareutman@bsu.edu. Likewise, if you have any food donations in order to help cover the food costs for the retreat, all would be appreciated! They are looking for any crackers, granola bars, chips, cookies, and other similar snack foods. Please bring all donations to Sarah Wallace at the Newman Center by 12pm on February 23rd.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Thoughts for the Weekend:
Sunday's second reading (1 Corinthians 10:31-11:1) is all about our actions and the intention of our actions:
Brothers and sisters,
Whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do,
do everything for the glory of God.
Avoid giving offense, whether to the Jews or Greeks or
the church of God,
just as I try to please everyone in every way,
not seeking my own benefit but that of the many,
that they may be saved.
Be imitators of me, as I am of Christ.
What is the intention behind your actions? Do you do everything
for the glory of God? What can you do to start changing your intentions? Meditate on it this week as we approach Ash Wednesday and our Lenten journeys.
