God does not give up on us, even when we give up on him.
He acts as a loving Father, like the father in the parable of the Prodigal Son.
God in Christ gives us mercy and forgiveness, which is extended through the Church in the sacrament of Reconciliation.
It’s our choice to accept or reject God’s outstretched hand of forgiveness.
