MID-WEEK DEVOTIONAL THOUGHT
"Therefore I, a prisoner for serving the Lord, beg you to lead a life worthy of your calling, for you have been called by God. 2 Always be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other’s faults because of your love. 3 Make every effort to keep yourselves united in the Spirit, binding yourselves together with peace." (Eph 4: 1-3, NLT)
Greetings, Church Friends and Family!! The people of God have always been expected to live according to God's guidelines. It means that with your way of life, you will prove that you love God and obey his commandments. To be called one of Christ also means that you will be actively committed to God and the task for which He has called you. As Christians, each of us is called to demonstrate the church's unity in our relationships with other Christians.
This unity that God asks of you never comes from himself. It must be practiced deliberately, which cannot happen when selfishness and self-interest still prevail in your life. Christians are called to always be modest and treat one another kindly and patiently. Because it goes against your selfish nature, you will never get it right on your own, but the working of the Holy Spirit in your life makes it possible for you.
Christians should also live in peace with one another and be willing to forgive one another and accept one another unconditionally despite their differences. What does it look like - can you handle it?
The Burton Adventist Academy Theater Department is presenting “Broken” – an original work that examines God’s desire to heal in the midst of our human brokenness. The performances are Friday evening, April 29 at 7 o’clock at the Arlington Adventist Church, and Saturday afternoon, April 30 at 5 o’clock at the Richardson Seventh-day Adventist Church. Due to some sensitive subjects, this production is recommended for ages 13 and up. The Burton Academy Theater Department thanks you for your continued support of these performances.
