Hello First Communion Families!
I hope this process of preparation has been fruitful for your children and families!
As we are putting some finishing touches on the First Communion Masses coming up May 7 and June 19, Fr. Bill John has made some changes concerning seating at Mass.
Rather than each child having a marked pew for their family and sitting with the family, all the children will sit together at the front in reserved pews. The families and guests will sit in a pew of their choice behind the children.
Updated procedures for the day:
1. Please arrive by 10:00 to check in at the front of the Church. You will receive your child's First Communion Certificate at Check in.
2. After you check in, bring/send your child to the front of the Church to be seated at my direction (or Sherry's).
3. Parents and families should take their seat in a pew of their choice.
4. Before Mass begins we will bring the children back to the entrance to line up so they can process in with Fr. Bill John.
5. After Mass we will take a few group pictures with Fr.Bill John, so please do not call your child away from the group until the group pictures are complete. If you do, they may miss their turn to be part of their group picture.
Other things to keep in mind:
After the group pictures you are welcome to take pictures with your family in and around the Church.
Please refrain from walking around the Church during Mass and especially during the Liturgy of the Eucharist, including the time when the children are receiving first communion. This is a Mass and we want to keep an atmosphere of reverence. You may take pictures from your pew.
We are still planning to take pictures of each child receiving their First Eucharist.
Thank you for your patience with us as we iron out these details.
In Christ,
Hilary Paolantonio
