Son of Seton, David Langford, will be ordained into the Diaconate on May 21, at 11 am, at St. Matthew Cathedral in South Bend. He will celebrate his first homilies at St. Elizabeth on May 22 at the 8 am and 9:45 am Masses with a reception following each Mass.
As David approaches his ordination, we ask all parishioners to pray the novena below starting on May 13 through May 21 to give him all the graces he needs to say YES to the Lord.
NOVENA FOR DAVID LANGFORD
Almighty God, giver of every grace,
who apportions every order and assigns every office,
who remains unchanged, but makes all things new,
send your Holy Spirit into our midst to make DAVID LANGFORD
and all men preparing for ordination to the diaconate
ready to offer themselves forever in the ministry of the Word, of the Altar, and of Charity, servants to all.
Grant DAVID wisdom when he is unsure,
knowledge when he is afraid,
counsel when he is confused,
fortitude when he is fragile,
understanding when he is troubled,
piety when he is indifferent,
and fear of you when he is proud.
Help DAVID to receive the Gospel of Christ:
convince him to believe what he reads;
train him to teach what he believes;
strengthen him to practice what he teaches.
Hear the prayers of all Your faithful servants
and in the eternal charity that You have shown us,
draw us all to that heavenly kingdom
where all are made perfectly one
at the eternal banquet of Christ,
the Good Shepherd and Eternal King.
Grant this through the same Jesus Christ, our Lord.
Amen.
