Dear Holy Spirit Families,
It is with great joy that I have accepted the position of principal at Holy Spirit Catholic School. I am extremely honored and humbled to serve the community of Holy Spirit in this role. My wife, Jen, and I were married in 2007, and joined Holy Spirit in 2008 after buying our first house in the neighborhood behind Holy Spirit. Holy Spirit has been home to our family ever since. Being able to give back to the Holy Spirit community and serve as principal is truly a dream come true.
I have firsthand experience with the amazing staff at Holy Spirit with my three daughters attending the school. Our oldest daughter Isabella is currently in 7th grade, Maggie is in 5th grade, and Eleanor is in 2nd. Our girls have thrived at Holy Spirit, and we hold the parish, school, and community close to our hearts. To complete our family of girls we have a four-year-old goldendoodle named Lady, whom you will see me frequently walking throughout the neighborhoods around Holy Spirit.
I have worked in education for 15 years, nine years as a classroom teacher and six years as a building administrator. I am currently the assistant principal at Ascension Catholic School in Overland Park. I received my degree in elementary education from Benedictine College (Ravens always fly on high!) and my master’s degree in School Leadership from Baker University.
I am excited to build upon the great things already happening at Holy Spirit. My role as principal is to lead students closer to Christ through faith formation, participating in the Sacraments, personal prayer, and to provide an exemplary education where all students can achieve. I look forward to meeting each and every family and to discover together what God has in store of Holy Spirit Catholic School.
God Bless,
Kevan O’Shea
