Friday, May 13 is a 12:55 dismissal.
If you are willing/able to help with activities at school May 17 or 24 please let me know, we are still in need of volunteers.
Wednesday, May 11 is our spring concert at the Community Center. Kids may arrive at 6:05, prelude begins at 6:15 and concert at 6:30.
We have finished up FAST literacy and math testing in first grade. When reviewing your child's scores, look at the gains form fall until now. They ALL have made AMAZING progress. GREAT WORK, kids!
The very best way to become an excellent reader is to read. So, keep reading with and to your child all summer. Time can slip away and all of a sudden it is fall again and we haven't read a book. Try to make it a priority or do it the same time daily.
This week we will do a lot of review in math. Your child's GoMath workbook will be coming home soon. There are many many pages left that you can work on over the summer.
In reading we continue to work on vowel teams. This week we learned about /oo/ as in the word smooth. This week we will learn about words with /le/. Spelling words went home Friday. They are:
about
right
title
sweater
paid
squirt
stumble
blew
short
friend
We will not practice them at school. The test on them will be this Friday.
Monday-Tuesday Mrs. M will be teaching
Wednesday-Friday Mrs. Luers will be teaching
Only 12 days left!!! CRAZY!!!
