A WORD FROM YOUR PASTOR
Next Sunday, May 22nd, I will be celebrating my 50th anniversary of ordination at the one Mass on Sunday at 10 AM followed by a picnic. You are all invited to join me on this happy day. Of course, the Saturday Mass will be as usual on May 21st at 5:00 PM.
I am most grateful to the parish committee who has done all the planning for me. In addition to the few remaining family member and guests from former assignments, I'll be joined at Mass by Msgr. John Cody, Father Mike Gribble, Larry Hummer, Michael Lumpe and Jerry Rodenfels.
Thanks to Michelle Shoaps who did the lovely plantings in front of the church and parish offices - just in time for Mother's Day and Confirmation. Also Sara Moberg for the plantings in the urns in front of the church - always lovely!
I am also very grateful to Chief Caskey of our Granville Police Department for providing extra security for our property last weekend. The diocese had issued an advisory about the potential for trouble at Catholic churches in light of the renewed debate over abortion.
we welcome Newark Catholic graduates to their Baccalaureate Mass at St. Edward's on Tuesday, May 17th. This Mass rotates across our different parishes year by year. Along with all our other graduates we pray for them, their families and future. Ave atque Vale! (Hail and Farewell!)
The following note was received from St. Vincent Haven:
We want to express our deepest gratitude for you generous donation of $1,011. With your gift, we will be able to continue doing His work and helping those who are the most in need of His message. God truly does provide. Your continued support is very important to us, and our thankfulness is unending.
