Do faith and science conflict?
For those with children and grandchildren, you should know that one of the big issues over which the young reject faith is that they believe faith conflicts with science. No it doesn't!
Catholics believe in and are evolutionary scientists and physicists. We believe that there is only one truth and that truth doesn't not contradict itself. Here Bishop Barron talks about the importance of reason and faith. We are more than neurons and chemical reactions. Science needs faith, because faith directs us to the meaning of life; union with our Creator. Science focuses on how material things come to be. Faith tells us why we are born, live and die. Science is not in competition with faith. Materialism, the philosophical position that only matter exists, masquerades as science. Bishop Barron explains in this trailer.
