We are so glad you are here.
We are looking forward to getting to know you better!
MID-WEEK DEVOTIONAL THOUGHT
Greetings, Church Friends and Family!! You know, it is not exactly an advantage to be dependent in the times we live in. We would much rather be independent; we want to take care of ourselves without looking into someone else’s eyes.
Read with me, as I read from Matthew 5:3-12, The sermon on the Mount.
"3 “Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
4 Blessed are those who mourn,
for they will be comforted.
5 Blessed are the meek,
for they will inherit the earth.
6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
for they will be filled.
7 Blessed are the merciful,
for they will be shown mercy.
8 Blessed are the pure in heart,
for they will see God.
9 Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they will be called children of God.
10 Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11 “Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. 12 Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you. - Matthew 5:3-12 (NLT)
Jesus says in his Sermon on the Mount that it is precisely the people who are aware of their dependence on God who are happy and blessed. He also promises that the kingdom of heaven will belong to these “dependents.”
In fact, it is so important to God that His children will be completely dependent on Him, and acknowledge this dependence, that it is the first sentence of His Sermon on the Mount.
It is usually only when a disaster strikes you or when you come down to the end of your own strength that you are willing to acknowledge your dependence on God. In 2 Corinthians 1:8-10, Paul describes the problems they encountered in Asia, and then he testifies: “9 In fact, we expected to die. But as a result, we stopped relying on ourselves and learned to rely only on God, who raises the dead.” (v. 9).
Are you already willing to be dependent on God in everything, give up your independence and your own will, so that your whole life will depend on God and be in accordance with his will? Do not procrastinate anymore to acknowledge your dependence.
“Lord, just teach me again that if I am willing, and acknowledge my dependence on you, that I will walk the street of your kingdom, and that your kingdom will also be mine.” Amen
This year we are blessed that the 2022 AYP Convention is coming to the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex July 29 – 31, 2022. Reserve your spot today and stay tuned as additional information is released!

WEEKEND AT-A-GLANCE
This coming Sabbath, we invite you to come and support Richard Grassi, as he goes through the waters of Baptism. It is so exciting!!
There are a few more young people, finishing up, some studies, and at least one more that will be starting studies this month. If you are considering baptism, please speak to Pr. Eugene, and he will either work with getting you on the schedule with him, or connect you with a baptismal coach to prepare you for your big day.
Sermon
The Sermon streaming this week will be presented by Pr. Kevin Wells, and will be the first sermon in a new series, “The Prophets - The Messiah (All about our Personal Devotion)”. The sermon is entitled, “Flawed Leaders” which will focus on Examples from the life of David. With scripture taken from 1 Samuel 13:14 as a welcoming text.
NO Potluck
this week (1st and 3rd Saturday of every month) – Please remember to plan and bring your favorite dish, side dish, or dessert to share, and let's enjoy great food and fellowship NEXT WEEK. And then plan on staying for the Days of Noah screening and discussion/study.
GIVING MOMENT
We Give because God Gave First - By contributing to what our Lewisville Campus and the Adventist Church is doing in our communities and around the world, we are using what God has given us to share the good news of Jesus by serving others. Tithing and giving offering is more than merely giving. One of the ways we express our gratitude to God is by giving our tithes and offerings.
KSCS
(KNOWLEDGE SEEKERS CHRISTIAN ACADEMY)
Friday, May 20th at 5:00 pm is the big day for our kindergarten and 8th-grade students - their graduation!
It also marks a very special day for one of our 5th-grade students, as she will also be getting baptized! Please mark this on your calendar and plan to come to celebrate your students achieving this wonderful milestone and support our 5th-grade student in deciding to follow Jesus!
Yes, we have several prayer groups that meet during the week, but some have expressed the need to be able to communicate prayer requests to bring before the Lord during our worship service, and they either do not attend in person at present or do not feel comfortable presenting their requests in person. This may also help us cut sometime during our service if we have the requests ready to go.
Please submit your prayer requests that you want to be prayed over during church service, to Pastor Eugene, 1. Via email (eugene@arlingtonadventist.com) or 2. Via Text Message or WhatsApp. (512.708.0600)

CLOSING REMARKS & HOUSEKEEPING
I know, realize and appreciate that every one of us has careers and responsibilities outside of our church fellowship. I do understand how overwhelming these responsibilities could be. That being said, I would love to kindly ask, that if you’ve agreed to serve in any capacity whatsoever, and life’s responsibilities and or challenges come knocking, please reach out, and try to find someone to cover your responsibilities for the affected time frame.
Should you wish to include anything in the Mid-week minute newsletter, please ensure to send the information to Pr. Eugene by Wednesday at Noon. The Mid-week Minute will be distributed with what has been received by that time to ensure an on-time publication.
Be blessed
Pr. Eugene
