My dear friends,
I am very grateful for the ongoing generosity of our parishioners to the Annual Partners in Charity Appeal. But I am still hoping that those who have not yet made a gift to this annual campaign will consider doing so at this time.
As I write, 35% of our parishioners have donated. At Christ the King we have raised the smallest amount of funds in over a decade and have fewer donors than any year in more than a decade.
The Diocese has just reached 70% of its goal of $5 million, which means it must still raise $1.5 million. And yet, this appeal supports all our essential diocesan charities, over two dozen vital ministries.
Thousands of people receive direct assistance through our charitable giving. They are youths and elderly, seminarians, those receiving home health care, retired priests, and many more. More than two dozen diocesan ministries and agencies are supported through this appeal. Their work carries on every day of the year.
I have attached a gift form as a PDF file (see below). You may print it out and complete it - and return it to Christ the King by mail, or by dropping it off, or by putting it in the Offertory basket at Mass. Your gift will be reported to the Diocese immediately.
All checks should be made payable to ‘Partners in Charity’ (not Christ the King).
I look forward to hearing from those who have not already made a gift and I take this opportunity to express my appreciation in advance. And I deeply appreciate the gifts of those who have already made a donation.
Thank you very much.
Sincerely,
Monsignor Tom
