Eighth graders, representing all K-8 schools in the diocese, pose for photos with Bishop Cotta. They all participated in the first diocesan-wide Grade 8 Graduation Mass. It's the start of a new tradition. We wish the students many blessings as they move onto high school.

We share in God’s work through our human labor. Work is not drudgery that our Creator has imposed on us, nor is it a penance for our sinfulness. Work is a gift: human participation in the creative activity of God.
In Church tradition, we have a beautiful partnership of work by the married farm couple, Isidore & Maria. These saints labored with their hands, cared for the land and its creatures, and brought a blessing to the poor of their day and the Church for all time.

Did You Know?
As the Diocese of Stockton is celebrating its 60th Anniversary, there's also a milestone reached by The School of Ministry. It has served this community for 30 years now. Bishop Roger Mahony called for its formation in 1982, but plans were put on hold with Bishop Mahony's transfer to Los Angeles. The plan was revived in 1991 under Bishop Donald Montrose. After determining needs and developing curriculum, the School of Ministry opened in 1992. The primary focus is ministry training and formation in both English and Spanish based on the United States Catholic Conference of Bishops/CCA standards and the document, Co-Workers in the Vineyard of the Lord. Mr. Dominador "Jun" Bombongan is the current Director. (Photos of recent trainings in April 2022.)

Ten -Day Pilgrimage Just Beginning
Fr. Cesar Martinez, Director of Vocations for the diocese, was on his way to Europe last week with our seminarians for a 10-day pilgrimage. They will be visiting Medjugorje, Bosnia, Hungary, and Poland. Please keep them in your prayers.
