Dear Beloved Friends at St. Mark’s:
Among the many things that St. Mark’s does well is to keep a secret. I came to church yesterday expecting the usual Sunday uplift from music, prayer, wisdom from the Rector, and fellowship all around me. Instead I found two of my far-flung children in my pew, a humbling end in Father Rick’s homily, and a church hall set for a happy birthday celebration.
Aside from the surprise, I was overwhelmed by the outpouring of love from all of you. I felt it not only in Rick’s words but in the beautiful things that Nancy Brangaccio said, Sue Richardson’s drawings, Michael’s music, your notes, and the spread of drinks and food.
By this late date, the birthdays have really piled up. Thank you for making this one so special.
Peace to you!
