Catholic Charities will be hosting a job fair this Saturday, May 21, with positions open in all three counties of the Archdiocese. Come be part of an organization doing great work to build up our communities and support the most vulnerable.
If you can't attend the job fair, you can also take a look at the job postings online. A wide variety of full-time positions are available in the areas of housing, immigration, education, and more.
The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) has issued a statement in response to the shootings over the weekend in Buffalo, NY and Laguna Woods, CA. Offering prayers for the victims, family, friends, and all affected by the tragedies, they also call for "an honest dialogue rooted in Christ in addressing the persistent evil of racism in our country."
Saturday's
shooting in Buffalo left three injured and 10 dead and specifically targeted a predominantly Black neighborhood.
Sunday's attack at a Presbyterian church in Orange County resulted in one person killed and five injured and is suspected to have been motivated by anti-Taiwan sentiment. Bishop Kevin Vann of the Diocese of Orange also
issued a statement following the shooting. (Photo: Andre Carrotflower via Wikimedia (CC BY-SA 4.0))
