Dear St. Theresa,
Among the blessings we enjoy at our parish, the ministry of music tops the list for many. The number of people who commented on the beauty of Holy Week is largely due to the dedication of so many hardworking musicians under Dr. Morris Stevens. Our music ministry leads us in worship, and it plays a critical role in religious education, and thus requiring the best resources our
community can provide.
Currently, our organ is failing.
The company that made it is no longer in business and the electronics are outdated and unreliable. Each week our organists struggle, often encountering difficulties at the worst possible times. Music carefully prepared by our choir must be scrapped at the last minute due to the many random failures we are experiencing. Keyboards and control mechanisms are nearly worn out and many no longer function.
Stay with me! The organ in our church has two distinct parts.
Due to the size constraints of our current worship space, our organ was designed to be about 10% pipe organ, while the remaining 90% is electronic. The pipe organ part is in good working condition and should continue to serve us for many decades. It is the electronic part and the console where the organist sits that must be replaced.
Our solution is a new console designed to “drive” the pipe organ.
This state-of-the-art technology would employ new digital stops and will control the all-new amplifiers and speakers we need to make this organ the best it can be. I am coming to you with hat in hand.
Would you consider helping in this effort?
We’ve raised $120k so far, and we need an additional $123k to complete this project. A new console is an excellent memorial opportunity. Please give prayerful thought to a significant gift ensuring that our music ministry continues to grow from strength to strength, offering inspiration for many years to come.
Sincerely,
Fr. Larry
