John 14:23–29 Jesus promises to send the Holy Spirit to guide his followers.
Each of today’s readings looks toward the future while assuring us of God’s continuing presence with us. The apostles rely on the Holy Spirit to guide them as to which Mosaic practices are necessary for all Christians. The author of Revelation envisions a new Jerusalem, radiant in the glory of God. In the Gospel, Jesus tells his disciples that the Father would send the Holy Spirit to teach them, remind them of his words, and advocate for them. *Fr. Eli will be attending the Priests Convocation for the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston in Galveston, TX beginning Monday, May 23rd until Thursday, May 26th.
With joy and gratitude, the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston will celebrate the 2022 Presbyteral Ordination of Deacon Luis Garcia, Deacon Jacob Ramirez, and Deacon Christopher Meyers on Saturday, June 4, 2022, at 10 AM in the Co-Cathedral of the Sacred Heart. Please keep them in your prayers as they prepare for their ordination.

A Prayer for Vocations
God our Father, we thank you for calling men and women to serve in your Son's Kingdom as priests, deacons, religious, and consecrated persons.
Send your Holy Spirit to help us respond generously and courageously to your call. May, our community of faith support vocations of sacrificial love in our youth.
We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. AMEN!

All for the Glory of God! The Diocesan Services Fund appeal supports over sixty ministries that advance the Gospel mission throughout our community. Together, DSF-supported ministries accomplish great works that no parish could do independently.

Pope Francis invites Catholics to celebrate Laudato Si' Week 2022A Vatican-sponsored initiative from May 22-29 will mark a return to in-person events
The weeklong global event will mark the seventh anniversary of Pope Francis' landmark encyclical on creation care and unite the world’s 1.3 billion Catholics to listen and respond to the cry of God’s creation.
Catholics will rejoice in the progress we have made in bringing Laudato Si' to life, and intensify our efforts through the Vatican’s new Laudato Si’ Action Platform, which is empowering Catholic institutions, communities, and families to fully implement Laudato Si’.
Comprising nearly one-fifth of the world’s population organized in some 220,000 parishes worldwide, the Catholic Church can play a powerful role in solving the dual challenges of the climate emergency and ecological crisis.
The theme for the week is “Listening and Journeying Together.” The eight-day global event will be guided by the following quote from Pope Francis’ Laudato Si’: “Bringing the human family together to protect our common home” (LS 13).
Laudato Si’ Week 2022 will mark the fourth global Laudato Si’ Week celebration (2016, 2020, 2021). But for the first time since 2016, the event will feature in-person events, an important milestone in the world’s efforts against the COVID-19 pandemic.
Each day of the week will be highlighted by a global event held in-person, online, or a combination of the two. The events will lift up Catholic teaching on biodiversity, responding to the cry of the poor, divestment, education, and eco-spirituality.
Locally, thousands of events will bring the message of Laudato Si’ to everyday Catholics, helping bring this global celebration to life and changing countless communities around the world. Further details about the Laudato Si’ Week 2022 program will be announced soon.
Laudato Si’ Week 2022 is sponsored by the Vatican Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development and facilitated by Laudato Si’ Movement in collaboration with a cohort of Catholic partners.
