A major system outage is currently causing our parish website
FatimaLakewood.com to be inaccessible.
eCatholic hosts our website on servers at
RackSpace. Rackspace has informed eCatholic that last night's DDoS attack (distributed denial-of-service attack) was targeted specifically at eCatholic or one of their Catholic parish websites. Therefore, all IP addresses had to be taken down in order to eliminate the DDoS attack.
eCatholic has been exploring options with Rackspace throughout the night, but unfortunately, the standard protocol for DDoS attacks is to ride them out. This typically means leaving the IP address offline for at least 24 hours, which means that FatimaLakewood.com will likely be down until at least late Friday night.
We are very sorry for the trouble that this attack is causing you. Please pray with me for the intercession of St. Michael the Archangel to protect eCatholic and all media outlets serving in the Church's mission to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ.
You can learn more about DDoS attacks here:
http://ecatholic.us/ddos. I will send out a message via Flocknote when the Fatima parish website is back online.
In Christ,
Elisa Foster
