A Note From Our New Principal:
Dear Holy Spirit Families,
This is Mr. O’Shea, the new principal at Holy Spirit, and it is with great joy that I write to you today! As we prepare for the end of the school year, we continue to keep an eye towards the future. With the help of returning staff members, I have been working diligently to fill our current openings at Holy Spirit. I am excited to share with you the newest members of the Holy Spirit Catholic School Staff for the 2022-2023 school year!
First, I would like to introduce our new assistant principal. We were blessed to have so many impressive applicants to select from! The initial round of interviews of candidates was held before a committee composed of myself and various teachers from the school. The committee identified two candidates who participated in the second round of interviews with myself and Fr. Andrew. We selected Tessa Piscitello to be the next assistant principal at Holy Spirit Catholic School through this process.
A note from Mrs. Piscitello:
Over the past decade, I have been blessed to be a part of Holy Spirit Catholic School as a 3rd grade teacher and leader in the Extended Day Care program. It is my honor to continue serving this extraordinary community as the new Assistant Principal. I am overjoyed at the opportunity to continue partnering with parents and supporting our teachers as we lead our children to Jesus and provide them with a dynamic education.
I graduated from Benedictine College in 2007 with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and will receive my Masters of School Leadership from the college next spring. After spending the first few years of my career teaching in my hometown of Spokane, WA, our family moved back to Overland Park, and we joined Holy Spirit parish in 2010. My husband Peter, our daughter Emma and I are thrilled to continue to call Holy Spirit our home and to be a part of the wonderful things God is doing in our school.
An additional staff member will be in a new role next school year. Nicole Richter will be moving from kindergarten and will teach 4th grade.
We have also filled the following positions at Holy Spirit (with more to come!):
Mrs. Jodi Graverson will be joining our kindergarten team
Mrs. Lori Dugan will be teaching 1st grade
Ms. Emily Stone will be teaching 7th/8th grade Math
Mr. David Walter will be our new full-time counselor
Please join us in welcoming these new staff members to Holy Spirit!
God Bless,
Mr. Kevan O’Shea
