Free Meals End After
2021-2022 School Year
When the 2021-2022 school year ends, so do free meals for every student. While the federal government funded a program that allowed all students access to free meals during the COVID-19 pandemic, Congress recently declined to continue funding this program. This means all families will need to carry a positive balance in their children’s school meal accounts when school begins next fall. We understand this change may cause you to worry. There are important steps you can take today to make sure your student receives the meals they need next year.
Step 1: Complete An Application for Free and Reduced Meals NOW. If your student qualifies for free or reduced meals, they can still receive them next year, but you must take action to make it happen.
- Complete the 2021-2022 application for free and reduced meals before the end of this school year if you have not already filled out an application for the 2021-2022 school year. This will give you a 30-day grace period at the start of the 2022-2023 school year to complete another application for next year.
- Then, fill out the 2022-2023 online application which will be available after July 1, 2022. Even if you complete the 2021-2022 application, you will still need to complete the 2022-2023 application as well.
Step 2: Budget for the Cost of School Lunches (if you do not qualify for free and reduced meals). Families that do not qualify for free or reduced meals can start depositing money into their student’s account to prepare for the cost of school lunches next year. Information on meal prices for the 2022-2023 school year will be available in the near future.
- Pay Off Negative School Lunch Balances. If your student has a negative lunch account balance, we encourage you to pay that as soon as possible and then begin depositing money into your student’s account to prepare for the 2022-2023 school year.
1st Day School Supply orders may now be placed for the 2022-2023 school year. Simply follow the link below and find your child's grade for the upcoming school year to place your order. Your order will be delivered directly to St. Matthew. School supply shopping has never been easier!
St. Joseph Fun Days
St. Joseph Fun Days is June 3, 4 and 5. Please join us in celebrating our Faith, Family and Community. There are many activities for all age groups; Country Store, Silent Auction, BINGO, Carnival Rides, Kids Games, Food, Hog Roast, Paddle Wheel and fantastic musical talent all weekend long in the Beverage Tent. Raffle tickets are available for $10 each with a chance to win $20,000! There are also many volunteer opportunities available if you are willing to help out a fellow parish!. Instructions
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Registration for the 2022-2023 school year can now be completed in PowerSchool by following one of the two processes below.
Option 1
PowerSchool Public Portal
- Follow https://xcs.powerschool.com/public/ and log in to PowerSchool by entering your username and password.
- Click Forms in the left navigation column to complete this year’s registration forms.
Option 2
PowerSchool App
- Download the PowerSchool App on a mobile device and enter this code to connect to our PowerSchool: TSQP
- Touch More in the lower-right corner.
- Touch Forms to complete this year’s registration forms.
Registration will need to be completed for all students separately, and some registration forms can be submitted for all students at once. After accessing PowerSchool from the Public Portal or from the App, accessing the “Forms” options will allow you to complete the registration process.

Capital Campaign Information
So far we have 49 school families who have made commitments to the campaign! Thank you! As a reminder...we want to get to 95% participation in supporting this incredible project!

School Efforts on the Capital Campaign
On Friday, May 6th, St. Matthew teachers used an in-service day to empty a large storage room in preparation for transforming it into two new classrooms. The timing of the classroom build is in alignment with the sequence recommended by the Advisory Committee to the Capital Campaign.
The plan was to have the old school cafeteria become a permanent storage area once the new cafeteria is built; however, until that happens it was necessary to find temporary storage areas to relocate materials. Temporary storage includes the boys/girl’s locker rooms, three rooms located behind the old cafeteria, and a large storage container (the big red metal box located in the upper parking lot).
Many items were identified that are no longer needed but too good to throw away. These items were donated and staged in the school gymnasium for a Freewill Offering sale. Proceeds from the sale netted $700, which is going toward the build of the new cafeteria.
Items that did not sell were taken to a local charity. A car full of like-new books (some instructional and some just fun kid reading) were donated to the West side KinderCare. What a great feeling knowing that books from St. Matthew School made their way to a good home that desperately needed them!
Construction is scheduled to start on June 1st so the new classrooms are ready for students on the first day of school. Our Maintenance team is working hard to move remaining shelves and items out of the storage room as construction cannot begin unless the large storage room is completely empty on or before Tuesday, May 31st.
As of May 19th, the Capital Campaign has received commitments of $4,225,017.56 toward our goal of $6,573,181. Commitments have provided enough money to cover everything in the planned renovation… with the exception of the build of the Common Area and the School Cafeteria.
Forty-nine families from the ECC and School have contributed $230,595 toward the build of the new cafeteria. While this amount is substantial, we obviously have some distance to go before reaching the required $2,354,197 for the cafeteria addition.
Along with commitments from School & ECC families and the $700 raised in the rummage sale…
All future commitments to the Capital Campaign will be directed to the build of the new School Cafeteria.
