Novena to the Holy Spirit
Novena to the Holy Spirit begins May 28th and continues to June 5th. Copies of the Short Novena to the Holy Spirit are available in the church. The novena will be prayed every day prior to Mass or Communion service for 9 days, ending on Sunday, June 5th. The Novena will take the place of the prayer before Mass.
Mini Ministries
"Mini" ministries have BIG impact There are so many activities that go on within the Church that make the day-to-day operations happen. We might not even be aware of what goes on. The work gets done--and not by elves. Having said that, one "mini" ministry in need of help, right now, is making Rosaries for visitors to our parish. You may not be aware of the numbers of visitors coming to St. Francis but a lot of Rosaries are given out. Each of them is hand made. This ministry can be done anywhere--watching TV, on vacation, or waiting at the doctor's office. A very portable project that can help the church greatly. Materials are provided and we will teach you! We just need the hands to do the work. Please contact Adult Faith Formation for details.

Spiritual Reading
A new booklet, "Join the Resistance" by Dr Ralph Martin, speaks to the need for every believer to identify, reject, and stand strong against the evil at work in the world today. Dr Martin is president of Renewal Ministries and director of Graduate Theology programs at Sacred Heart Major Seminary in the Archdiocese of Detroit. His most recent book, "The Church in Crises", is a best seller and is available on Amazon. The booklet is available in the church.
Craft Night Canceled
Craft Night for May 30th has been canceled. Meetings will resume June 6th at 6pm.
Religious Education Classes
Religious Education Classes have been completed for the year! Thank you to all the Catechists who worked so hard to help educate our parish youth this year! We hope all of our youth have a wonderful summer with their families and we look forward to seeing everyone at Mass and for classes again in the fall!
Important Dates
Youth Group Meeting Dates are June 5 and 19 from 5 until 7.
The Teen Mass for the month of June will be on June 12 @11. A social will follow for Jr. and Sr. High school youth until 2:30.
VBS and Summer Camp Supply Donations
It's Summer! That means it's time to prepare for Vacation Bible School and Summer Camp! As we prepare for this years VBS, we will be needing individually packed snacks, fruit, sports drinks, water. Donations can be dropped off in the Parish Office.
Early Childhood Religious Education Group
At this time the Early Childhood Religious Education Class will not continue to meet. Please be on the lookout for updates at a later date!

We know its early but now is the time to sign your kids up for Vacation Bible School! The dates for VBS this summer are June 20th to June 24th from 9:00 to 12:00. The ages included are kindergarten through 5th grade! We hope to see you there for a time of faith filled fun!

Eucharistic Congress is Coming to Atlanta
Each year the Eucharistic Congress bring together Catholics from across the country to celebrate the visible, living presence of Jesus in the Holy Eucharist. The Archdiocese of Atlanta invites you to join us for the year's Eucharistic Congress at the Georgia International Convention Center June, 17 and18. The Eucharistic Congress is coming to Atlanta! Take the bus...and Leave the Driving to Us The Archdiocese is hosting an Eucharistic Congress in Atlanta on Friday June 17th and Saturday June 18th. The Parish is looking into the possibility of chartering a bus that would depart the parking lot circa 5:30 Saturday morning and arrive at the Convention Center in time to participate in the opening procession and ceremonies. The bus would leave Atlanta in the early afternoon arriving back to the parking lot in
time for 4:30 Mass. The parish would pay for one half of the charter fee. To make this work, we would need 50 parishioners to sign-up and agree to pay $30 per person to ride the bus. Sign-up sheets are located in the back of church.

Chapel Veils
Starting June 5th, veils will no longer be available. Once the current supply is gone, anyone wishing to obtain a veil may go to the Veil by Tradition website. The veils are free, but a person must pay the shipping fee.
Grace Force Meeting
The May 27th meeting of Grace Force is cancelled due to the holiday weekend.
Father's Day Novena
The time for the Father's Day Novena is fast approaching. The Novea will begin on the 11th of June. Father's can be added to the Novena from a sign up in the vestibule.
Lord, Teach Us to Pray
St. Teresa of Avila is the Doctor of the Church on Prayer, teaching from the very beginning on mystical prayer. We will meet on the second Thursday of each month. Our next meeting is on Thursday June 9 at 6:00pm in room 5. We will be using "I Want to See God," a practical synthesis on prayer. Care for Creation
Just in time for Father's Day, the Care for Creation team will raffle off a genuine masterpiece baked by Melissa's Custom Cakes. The tickets will be only $2 each or 3 for $5 and will be sold before and after all Masses the weekends of June 4/5, 11/12, and 18/19. The drawing will be held after the 11:00 Mass on June 19th and the cake will be delivered right away. Proceeds from the raffle will go towards the maintenance and possible enlargement of the pollinator garden.
Safety and Security Ministry
WANTED: Parishioners with First Responder, Law Enforcement, Military Experience or just want to help our Parish Campus become Safer and more Secure. Online Rosary

Council 11746 is serving breakfast from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM on June 12, 2022. Breakfast is free for all fathers, in their honor.
Justice and Mercy
A new ministry, formed out of the Dignity and the Death Penalty class, has started at St. Francis. Our purpose is to work towards ending the death penalty in the state of Georgia, and the whole of the US. The Parish Leaders will meet on Thursday, June 2 at 9:45 in room 6. The topic for this month is How to Define and Communicate Your Mission. Each parish group has a mission and vision. Do the members in your group know what it is? Do they support it? Are they excited by it? Do others in the parish understand your mission so that they can make a decision to join or support your group in some way? We will explore these questions in our monthly meeting. Bereavement Ministry
The Bereavement Ministry will be offering a 10 week Bereavement Support Group for anyone suffering with a significant loss brought on by death of a loved one. There will be a Motorcycle Ride and Retreat on Monday, October 4 (weather permitting) beginning at 10:00. We will meet at the church at 10:00 for a short talk and then ride to Dahlonega for lunch and conversation. Then we'll take a leisurely ride back to Blairsville. Why Go to Adoration
The Saints that we honor and ask intercession from are the Catholic Church's Hall of Fame. They are proof for us that every Saint had a past and every sinner has a future. If you have a favorite photo, painting, icon of your patron saint and would like to donate it to St Francis, we are creating a "Hall" of Fame in the administration building. Pictures should not exceed 9 x 12 inches in total size, including a frame. Pictures may be delivered to the Adult Faith Formation office.
