Hi there, everyone! Here's our Flocknote for this Friday. Have a great Memorial Day weekend as we give thanks for & remember all those who have paid the ultimate price & sacrifice for us to enjoy the freedoms that we do today!
1) Picnic: Don't forget to save Sunday, June 26th on your calendar for the return of our Parish Picnic from Noon to 4 pm in the De Paul Center Courtyard.
There will be games, food and lots of camaraderie.
Watch for signup sheets, at the church entrances, for side dishes, desserts and needed help. We hope to see you there!
2) Fr. Manning: Congratulations to Fr. Manning who joins us this weekend @ the 9 am Mass on Sunday to celebrate the 50th anniversary of his ordination as a Priest! May God continue to bless & guide you Fr. Manning!
3) Memorial Day: Monday's Mass for Memorial Day will be at 9:00 am as we pray for this who have given their lives in service to our country & pray for the continued growth of peace in our country today!
4) Congrats to our Grads: Congratulations to all those who are graduating this year! May God Bless & Guide you on the next stage of your journey!
5) Prayers for Texas: As a parish family, we offer our prayers for those who suffered the unspeakable events of this past week in Uvalde, Texas & a few weeks ago in Buffalo. As we offer our prayers, may our praying lead us to action, not necessarily the action that we're comfortable with, but the action that God is calling us to to truly bring about change in our society.
As we do that, here's a prayer that we might pray...
Prayer for the Victims of the School Shooting in Texas
5/25/2022
Lord God, our hearts are broken with pain as we hear again of death and despair caused by gun violence.
Families mourn, children live in fear, and the nation asks why.
We ask, O Lord, that you comfort those families wounded by events in Uvalde, Texas.
Care for the souls who grieve and help us work for greater and lasting peace.
Help us to transform our own hearts, to turn from violence, and to seek peaceful ways of resolving differences.
Let our hands connect with those who feel alone, those who live in fear, and those suffering from mental illness.
Let our voices be raised asking lawmakers to create the means to protect all in our society, especially those most vulnerable.
And let our choices be those that make our nation a healthy, holy home.
We ask this in the name of Jesus Your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, the Lord and giver of life. Amen
Have a Blessed Week!
Fr. John
