My wife, Peggy, worked for some 10-15 years as the Pro-Life Director for the Archdiocese of Atlanta. During those years, she was in contact with a number of national Pro-Life organizations, one of which was Operation Rescue, founded
by Randall Terry. A few weeks ago, she received the following message from Randall, which I have elected to share with you. I believe it's important, given what's going on in our nation today. The sad note follows:
The last month has been the most intense pro-life
battle I've been in for years. Here's what happened:
On March 25, Terrisa Bukovinav and Lauren
Handy went to a D.C. abortion mill to protest. A
Curtis Bay Medical Waste truck driver was there,
and he had two large boxes that he picked up at
Surgi-Clinic, the abortion mill run by Cesare
Santangelo, a notorious late-term abortionist in
D.C.
Terrisa and Lauren asked the driver if he knew what
was in the boxes. He did not. Terrisa said, "Dead
babies." They asked if they could take one box. He
asked, "What will you do?" They said, "Give them a
funeral and a proper burial." He said, "Take one."
They took the box, and called me immediately
asking for advice. I told them to get gloves, masks,
and set up a camera to record when they opened the
box.
No one could have been prepared to find what they
had: 115 aborted children, including 5 late-term
babies that are clearly the victims of illegal
abortions. The largest boy appears to have been
born alive and later died. Terrisa and Lauren asked
me to lead their strategy and battle, so I drove
straight to Washington, DC to develop a press
strategy, schedule their interviews, and hold a
massive press conference.
Congressmen demand answers!
Our efforts have resulted in a congressional inquiry.
Senators and House members want criminal
charges brought against the killer, Cesare
Santangelo. Remember his name!
That was the Dire Message. Do you remember reading about it anywhere? I certainly don't! Fulton Sheen has said: "Believe the incredible and you can do the impossible." We are facing an impossible situation in our nation today, and I ask each of you to pray for an end to the abomination of abortion. Life is a gift from God and it must be protected and honored. Abortion is not the answer, and at the time of this writing, the Supreme Court is reconsidering its Roe v Wade decision.
May God give us the courage to act....Deacon Loris
