Rite of Sending
We celebrated the Rite of Sending with adults preparing to receive the sacraments at the Easter Vigil on March 31, 2018. The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is a process of becoming a member of the Catholic Church.by Joan Rose Brown, OLL Director of Faith Formation
(Above) Catechumens Azure Cutter and Michael Merod were called forward together with their Godparents, who testified as to their readiness to receive the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation & Eucharist.
(Below) They then signed the Book of the Elect, which was presented to Bishop Zarama later that afternoon at the Rite of Election.

(Below) Candidates Dana Hilldale, Catherine Lockhart and Michael Wenger also were called forward and recognized for their preparation to receive the Sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist at the Easter Vigil.
The catechumens and candidates were then "Sent" to the Rite of Election that afternoon celebrated by Bishop Luis Zarama at Holy Name of Jesus Cathedral. RCIA director Joan Rose Brown presented the Book of the Elect to the Bishop for his signature. (Below)
