Good morning,
It’s dawn, and whatever cameras can pick up, it's never as good as what our eyes see; it's calm it's still cool and crisp, birds are coming to life, and the sun is rising in the sky.
This morning brings to mind the verse from Lamentations: Chapter 3 verses 21 and following. “But this I will call to mind; as my reason to have hope: the favors of the Lord are not exhausted, his mercies are not spent, they are renewed each morning -- so great is his faithfulness. My portion is the Lord says my soul; therefore, I will hope in him.” The mercies of the Lord are not exhausted, they're new, renewed each morning.
I want to give that as a gift to you today to maybe foster your prayer, to bring those hard things to the Lord as we begin this month of June. The month that Pope Francis is asking us to pray for the family. Pray the family would be strong in this month of the Sacred Heart of Jesus; the month where many of our kids here at our school but also high schools and colleges are graduating, and maybe there's some hiccups in our life, but I would call this as my reason to have hope. The mercies of the Lord are not exhausted they are renewed every morning. I hope you get to experience this sunrise.
God bless you,
Fr. Matt
