Mass Time Change

"Pursuing Jesus and Forming Disciples"
This week you will receive a brochure detailing a new program, titled "Pursuing Jesus and Forming Disciples" that our parish will be participating in over the next few works. It's intended to communication how we want to advance our mission and how we serve God's people. Commitment Weekend for this program is
February 23rd and 24th. (This weekend!) We encourage all to spend time in prayer and discussion to reflect on how you are able to help us! We hope to see you all at Mass for this important Commitment Weekend. Questions can be directed to Tara at (765) 288-6180.
Parish Lenten RetreatEncountering Christ on the Road to EmmausMark your calendars for our Lenten Parish Retreat,
March 13, 14, and 15th from 7:00pm – 8:00pm. Encounter Christ in a deeper way through three nights of reflection, prayer and the Sacrament of Confession. Babysitting will be available. Questions? Contact Anthony Feola afeola@parish.dol-in.org.
Haiti Change Can CollectionLenten Cans for Haiti are still available in the Narthex! We are asking each family to take home a can to fill with loose change (or bills!) during this Lenten season to be used to purchase medicine for the medical clinic at our sister parish, St. Michael, in Plaisance, Haiti. Thank you so much for your generosity!More Almsgiving IdeasSaint Vincent de Paul SocietySVdP Society wishes to THANK all who have donated food and money in the past month! Please continue to make it a habit to bring food each time you attend mass so that our pantry will remain stocked. Any money donated helps families pay rent and utilities which is always a huge concern during the winter. Make checks payable to "SVdP Society," write "Deposit Only" on the back, put the check in a business size envelope, and then place that envelope in the large $ envelope in our box in the Narthex. You may also call Angela at 760-0378 to make special arrangements for pick-up. Clothing and household items may be donated to our Thrift Store.
The Gabriel ProjectWe have had two baby boys born...one in January and one in February...and a third is due March 1. Please donate Newborn and Size 1 diapers, wipes, and new/gently used sizes NB to 9 months for winter/spring/summer. Also, we are now requesting donations of new/gently used maternity clothing. Many of our pregnant mothers-to-be have no actual maternity clothing. We are hoping to be able to offer at least one pair of pants and two tops to each mother as she nears the 6-month mark in her pregnancy. Donations may be left in the box in the Narthex or call Carol at 289-4536 to schedule a pick-up.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Thoughts for the Weekend:
The second reading for Sunday's mass (2/25) shows us the true power of God:
Brothers and sisters:
If God is for us, who can be against us?
He who did not spare his own Son
but handed him over for us all,
how will he not also give us everything else along with him?
Who will bring a charge against God's chosen ones?
It is God who acquits us, who will condemn?
Christ Jesus it is who died—or, rather, was raised—
who also is at the right hand of God,
who indeed intercedes for us.
If God is for us, who can be against us?God has the power to be our greatest ally and defender in the fight to be good and just; we have nothing to fear when He is with us.
Have you put your complete faith and trust in God? What can you do this week to continue building that trusting, all-relenting relationship?
