Deacon Andrew Morand's First Homily
Last Saturday, seminarian Andrew Morand was ordained into the transitional deaconate by Bishop Doherty. The following day, he preached his first homily here at his home parish.

When the survey went out last year asking for your thoughts on a three-year plan for St. Alphonsus Liguori, one of the issues that came up repeatedly was the sound system in the church — “fix it!” you said. That seemed so urgent we didn’t feel we could wait for the plan to be finished, so we “fixed it” and will continue adjusting as needed. As a result, you will not see sound system upgrades as part of the three-year plan which you will receive this summer. But there are plenty of other issues in the plan that you feel are important, and we will need your help to address those issues once the plan is unveiled.

Many of us understand the weight of a mortgage hanging over us like a perpetual storm cloud…and the freedom that comes when that burden is ultimately lifted. It is a definite cause for celebration, and we’re ready to celebrate with YOU!
In 2012, our parish obtained a mortgage of $1,200,000.00 to help pay for renovations of the parish offices, Weitzel Hall (to transform it from a social hall to an education/program/meeting facility), and Parish Hall (installing a new commercial grade kitchen and upgrading the facility).
With generous contributions from our parishioners, that substantial mortgage was paid off in March of this year – eight months early! Please join us at the Parking Lot Party on June 11 as Father Travis takes a match to the mortgage. In the spirit of Dave Ramsey…WE’RE DEBT FREE!
