The Capital Campaign and the design of our new facility dominated the 2021-2022 school year. As we look to the 2022-2023 school year, we will continue to focus most of our energies towards our building project-United for Our Future. Fostering more community engagement and strengthened relationships with our parish along with providing educational and emotional support to students will continue to be focal areas for us. Listed below is our progress and the action steps we have laid out for the 2022-2023 school year.
Staff Development:
Math, technology programs and beginning our Believe and Read initiative were the focus of our staff development in 2021-2022. Training will be focused in three main areas this coming year. Our Believe and Read initiative will continue to develop teachers in grades Kindergarten, First, and second grade while bringing in teachers in Third Grade and Resource. Our Social/Emotional Learning programming, Saintly Emotional Learning, will provide development in helping students learn to self-regulate their emotions and develop social skills and behavior patterns that are conducive to the learning environment. Our Peace of Mind initiative will provide staff training on dealing with students behavioral challenges in a productive way.
Student Support Team Process:
We worked hard this past year to develop a process to identify, document, and tract student behavioral and academic needs while also supporting teachers in providing positive interventions. Next year our focus will be on the implementation of this process and the inclusion of how our school counselor can be integral to its success.
Parent Engagement:
We continue to work to increase parent and community involvement in the school. We made some progress in the 2021-2022 school year, but more needs to be done. Next year we will focus on improving and increasing volunteerism through many strategies. Our parent organization has developed strategies to increase participation and exposure of thier group. We are also working to build a School Advisory Committe that is robust and engaged with the school in many ways.
Marketing Committee:
We continue to strive to build a sustainable marketing committee structure. Our efforts this past year turned out to not be sustainable. Next year our focus will be on development of a joint model with Bethlehem Academy that will support the Catholic Schools of Faribault.
Advancement:
Developing a clear advancement strategy and plan remains a focus. Next year, as in the past, this will be dominated with the needs of the capital campaign, however, we will work to develop strategies for improvement as the campaign draws to a close. How do we set our school up for continued success in the area? This will be the focus of our efforts.
Collaboration with Bethlehem Academy:
This is an area that continues to change and evolve. In 2021-2022 we successfully merged our enrollment and tuition payment structure, moved forward with a joint student data system, and began to call ourselves " The Catholic Schools of Faribault". We will continue to work to keep the lines of communication open as the plans for the future begin to take shape. Enrollment, Marketing, Advancement, Staffing, and Events are all areas that are discussed on an annual basis. We have completed many things, yet there is much more we can do in this area.
