Holy Cross Safety Updates
To ensure the safety and awareness of all staff, parishioners and visitors, Holy Cross is now implementing the following precautions:
During weekend Masses, we ask that you only enter through the doors by the parking lot. They will be locked 5 minutes after Mass has begun. Ushers will be in the Commons to watch for those who come late and want to attend Mass. They will open the doors.
The handicapped door by the elevator will be locked always but those in need may hit the handicapped "open door" button. Five minustes after Mass, the ushers will then disable the "open door" button. We will soon have a buzzer that will let ushers know that someone is at the door (since one can not be seen from the Commons to the elevator door). Thank you for your patience.
If you visit the church during the week, the doors will be locked. Push the call button by the handicapped door and a staff member or office volunteer will see you on our camera and let you in. If someone does not know you, you will be asked to say your name and state your purpose for entering the church. Please be aware that you may be asked to provide ID even if you come often to the parish as we have new staff and new office volunteers.
Our staff, greeters, ushers and office volunteers have recently received training on being proactive in keeping our parish safe. Please work with them to ensure Holy Cross remains safe. It is important! Thank you for your cooperation.
