A Letter from Fr. Beau
Dear Parishioners,
Summertime at St. Angela allows us to engage in particular projects that would be difficult to accomplish in a busy school day. Among the various projects that we are tackling this summer, I wanted to let you know about a particular project that has become more necessary now than ever.
This important project involves school security. Families and school communities around the world were deeply shaken by the school shooting in Uvalde, Texas. Our prayers have been focused on the families that grieve the loss of the 19 children who died that day, in addition to the two teachers that did their best to protect
their class.
In light of this, we are seeking to further strengthen our campus security with the addition of a gate that would surround our Annex Building, our gym, and our playground behind the gym. Currently, the doors are locked in those areas, but additional gates with secured, electronic entry points, would add another layer of security to our campus.
We are estimating that the total cost for this security improvement could run around $70,000. We are also in the process of hiring a JPSO School Resource Officer, which could cost an additional $50,000 / year.
Our school is the second largest ministry of our parish, and God has entrusted these children to our care. In order for them to learn and grow, they must be kept safe. We appreciate anything you can give towards this security collection.
May God bless you,
Fr. Beau
